Still time to sign up for the One Million Readers Challenge

It’s not too late to let CLA know that you’re taking part in California’s One Million Readers summer reading challenge.

Participating libraries have committed to creating partnerships and conducting outreach to increase their summer reading participation this year.

Are you doing this? Use our online form before the end of July to let us know that you’re part of the challenge!

Join over 100 public libraries and state and local partners in pledging your support to increase the number of children, teens, and adults who take part in California’s public library summer reading programs.

State Librarian, Greg Lucas, says: “Summer reading programs help prevent “summer slide.” They close the opportunity gap. They offer learning opportunities for all ages and build communities. So how incredible would it be to help 1 million Californians fall deeper in love with reading?” Read full message from Greg Lucas.

We hope you will join us in encouraging more children, teens, and adults to benefit from California’s summer reading programs!
